The Tribunal Chair also includes some other requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be considered for appointment to the Tribunal a candidate must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Not be an employee, or have been an employee within the past six months, of the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction or the Ministry of Education and Child Care;<\/li><li>Not be an employee of the Provincial Government pursuant to the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bclaws.gov.bc.ca\/civix\/document\/id\/complete\/statreg\/96385_01\">Public Service Act<\/a><\/em>; and<\/li><li>Not be a recipient of benefits from the programs from which the Tribunal hears appeals.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, candidates must possess the following qualifications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>an understanding of the essential elements for the conduct of a fair and objective hearing;<\/li><li>an understanding of the key aspects of the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bclaws.gov.bc.ca\/civix\/document\/id\/complete\/statreg\/02040_01\">Employment and Assistance Act<\/a><\/em>, the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bclaws.gov.bc.ca\/civix\/document\/id\/complete\/statreg\/02041_01\">Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Act<\/a><\/em>, the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bclaws.gov.bc.ca\/civix\/document\/id\/complete\/statreg\/96026_01\">Child Care Subsidy Act<\/a><\/em>, and their regulations;<\/li><li>ability to interpret and apply legislation;<\/li><li>analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, decision making and decision writing skills;<\/li><li>ability to listen and communicate clearly and effectively;<\/li><li>ability to work well in group settings;<\/li><li>computer literacy;<\/li><li>commitment to respect diversity;
